The Monkey Family
In diesem sechsteiligen Werk werden verschiedene Charaktere einer imaginären Affenfamilie dargestellt: der Verspielte, der Tänzer, der Verrückte, der Verträumte und der Bösewicht. Im letzten Satz „Die Affenparade“ treten die fünf Affen wieder nacheinander auf und beenden gut gelaunt dieses unterhaltsame Werk.

In this six-part musical composition, different temperaments of a fictional monkey family are portrayed: the Playful, the Dancer, the Freak, the Dreamer and the Rogue. In the last movement, called ‘The Monkey Parade’, the five monkeys reappear in turn to end this entertaining composition cheerfully.

Cette œuvre en six mouvements présente les différents caractères d’une famille imaginaire de cinq singes: l’espiègle, le danseur, le farfelu, le rêveur et le méchant. Dans le dernier mouvement intitulé « La parade des singes » les cinq singes réapparaissent à tour de rôle et terminent de bonne humeur cette pièce divertissante.

Little Dino in America
In der 5. Folge der Little Dino Serie ist unser kleiner Held in Amerika unterwegs. Auf nach Amerika!, Bei den Indianern, Im Wilden Westen, Blues in New Orleans, Am Broadway, bilden die verschiedenen Teile dieser Folge. Das musikalische Hauptmotiv, das die Hauptperson schon in den vorhergehenden Folgen gekennzeichnet hat, kehrt auch in der Fortsetzung in jeweils veränderter Form wieder.
In the fifth episode of the Little Dino series our little hero visits America. Off to America!, Meeting the Indians, In the Wild West, The Blues in New Orleans, On Broadway, these are the different parts of this episode. The main musical motif that already characterized the protagonist in the former episodes recurs each time in a changed way in the continuation.
Dans le cinquième épisode de la série notre petit héros se retrouve en Amérique: En route vers l’Amérique !, Chez les Indiens, Au Far West, Blues à New Orléans, Broadway, voilà les différentes parties des périples de Little Dino. Le motif musical, qui a déjà caractérisé le personnage central dans les pérégrinations précédentes, revient dans cette œuvre sous des formes différentes.

Little Dino in Japan
In dieser Folge ist Little Dino in Japan angekommen. Andächtig lässt er die fremde Kultur auf sich einwirken, um dann gut gelaunt in einem Garten umherzutollen, in dem die Kirschbäume in voller Blüte stehen. Ein Besuch bei den Samurai darf nicht fehlen, ebenso wenig wie die Ruhe und die Stille einer Teezeremonie. Geschäftig und dynamisch geht es dann im letzten Teil zu, der in Tokyo spielt.
In this episode, Little Dino has arrived in Japan. He reverently soaks in the foreign culture before joyfully romping around in a garden with cherry trees in full bloom. Of course, he must not miss a visit to the samurai or the peace and quiet of a tea ceremony. The last part of his journey, taking place in Tokyo, becomes busy and dynamic.
Dans cet épisode nous côtoyons Little Dino au Japon. Avec recueillement il s'imprègne de cette culture étrangère pour se divertir ensuite dans un parc où les cerisiers sont en fleurs. La rencontre avec les Samurai ainsi qu'une participation à une cérémonie pendant laquelle on déguste le thé silencieusement constituent les prochaines étapes de son périple. La dernière partie a lieu à Tokyo, métropole animée et dynamique.

„In the Highlands“ heißt der erste Teil dieses Abenteuers von Little Dino, der uns gleich in die richtige schottische Stimmung versetzt. Ein Besuch in Loch Ness darf natürlich nicht fehlen, ebenso wenig wie Anklänge an die schottische Nationalhymne mit „Little Dino the Brave“. Munter und gut gelaunt endet diese Reise mit dem traditionellen schottischen Tanz „The Céilidh“. Schwierigkeitsgrad: leicht – mittelschwer
The first part of Little Dino's adventure is called "In the Highlands". We enter the right Scottish atmosphere straight away. Needless to say that we cannot miss a visit to Loch Ness or hints to the Scottish national anthem with "Little Dino the Brave". The trip ends happily and with a traditional Scottish Céilidh. Degree of difficulty: easy - average.
Cette nouvelle aventure de „Little Dino“ débute dans les „Highlands“; elle nous plonge immédiatement dans l’ambiance écossaise.
Après une visite de Loch Ness on entend des réminiscences de l’hymne national écossais avec « Little Dino the Brave ». Le voyage de Dino se termine allégrement et dans la bonne humeur par une danse traditionnelle écossaise, „The Céilidh“. Degré de difficulté: facile à moyen

Unser kleiner Held ist in dieser Folge zuerst auf einem Piratenschiff, erlebt dann einen Piratenangriff, fährt durch eine blaue Lagune, entdeckt daraufhin eine Schatzinsel und nimmt schließlich am Tanz der Piraten teil. Schwierigkeitsgrad: leicht – mittelschwer
In this episode our little hero finds himself on a pirate ship, then he experiences a pirate attack, sails through a blue lagoon, after that he discovers a treasure island and finally takes part in the dance oft he pirates. Level of difficulty: easy – moderately difficult.
Dans cet épisode notre petit héros se trouve d'abord sur un navire de pirates, est confronté à une attaque des pirates, navigue à travers un lagon bleu, découvre l'île au trésor et participe finalement à la danse des pirates. Degré de difficulté: facile à moyen

In Anlehnung an eine berühmte TV-Comicserie ist in diesem Stück die Familie der Flötenspieler der Hauptdarsteller. Die „Flutsons“ sind eine verspielte und durchtriebene Bande, die voller Vergnügtheit, Kurzweil und Lebenslust sind.

Borrowing from a famous TV comic series the composer chose a family of flute players as the protagonists of this piece. The „Flutsons“ are a playful, shrewd , cheerful gang, having a great time and full of zest for life.

En référence à une série TV de bande dessinée très célèbre, c’est la famille des flûtistes qui est le protagoniste de cette pièce. Les « Flutsons », une bande de larrons enjoués et espiègles, sont pleins de gaîté et de joie de vivre.

Die Pimpampels
In diesem unterhaltsamen Werk für Flöte und Klavier spielen die Pimpampels die Hauptrolle. Dieser lustige Name stammt aus der luxemburgischen Sprache und der deutsche Begriff dafür lautet "Schmetterling". Die sechs kleinen Teile, aus denen das Werk besteht, sind thematisch miteinander verbunden und heißen: Hallo Pimpampels!, die schöne Pimpampelina, der lustige Pimpampelino, der Pimpampelblues, der Pimpampelflug und die Pimpampelshow.

The Pimpampels
“Pimpampels” play the main role in this entertaining piece for flute and piano. This funny name is the Luxembourgish word for “butterfly”. The piece consists of six small parts, which are connected thematically. They are called: Hallo Pimpampels!, the beautiful Pimpampelina, the jolly Pimpampelino, the Pimpampel Blues, the flight of the Pimpampel and the Pimpampel show. Degree of difficulty: easy.

Dans cette oeuvre divertissante pour flûte et piano les "Pimpampels" jouent le rôle principal. Ce terme amusant appartient à la langue luxembourgeoise et désigne les "papillons". La pièce se compose de six petits morceaux qui s'intitulent: Hallo Pimpampels, la belle Pimpampelina, le drôle Pimpampelino, le blues des Pimpampels, le vol des Pimpampels et le show des Pimpampels.

Dieses virtuose Werk für 2 Flöten und Klavier wurde von Herrn Carlo Jans in Auftrag gegeben. Der Komponist sollte eine Fantasie über bekannte Melodien aus Operetten von Edmond de la Fontaine, auch noch « Dicks » genannt, schreiben.
Die Herausforderung an den Komponisten bestand darin, eine neue Interpretation der Melodien auszuarbeiten ohne dabei ins Althergebrachte oder Triviale zu verfallen. Er hat die traditionellen Melodien mit seiner eigenen musikalischen Sprache zu einem neuen, humorvollen Werk verbunden. Dabei soll auf keinen Fall der Eindruck einer Persiflage auf die Melodien von Edmond de la Fontaine entstehen; der Komponist hat die Melodien zu neuem Leben erweckt im grossen Respekt für den bekannten luxemburgischen Komponisten.
Das Werk wurde Frau Carine Jans-Forget und Herrn Carlo Jans gewidmet.
Mr. Carlo Jans commissioned this virtuosic work for 2 flutes and piano. The composer was to write a fantasia on well known melodies from operettas by Edmond de la Fontaine, also known as “Dicks”.
The challenge consisted in devising a new interpretation of the melodies without lapsing into the trivial or the traditional. He joined the old melodies and his own musical language into a new, humorous work. By no means should one get the impression of a persiflage of Edmond de la Fontaine’s melodies; the composer revived the melodies while showing the deepest respect for the well known Luxembourg composer. The work is dedicated to Mrs. Carine Jans-Forget and Mr. Carlo Jans.
Cette œuvre virtuose pour deux flûtes et piano a été écrite à la demande de
M. Carlo Jans qui désirait une fantaisie sur des mélodies populaires extraites d’opérettes de Edmond de la Fontaine connu sous le nom de « Dicks ».
Le défi pour le compositeur consistait à élaborer une nouvelle version de ces mélodies en les reformulant dans son propre langage musical pour créer une nouvelle pièce pleine d’humour; il s'agissait d'innover tout en respectant ce compositeur populaire luxembourgeois.
L’œuvre est dédiée à Madame Carine Jans-Forget et à Monsieur Carlo Jans.

A version for 2 solo flutes and flute ensemble has been arranged in February, 2015.

Dies ist die zweite Folge der Abenteuer des „Little Dino“, der Figur, die der Komponist im Jahre 2008 erfunden hat. Die tapfere Figur des „Little Dino“ schlummert langsam ein und beginnt zu träumen. This is the second edition of ‟Little Dino’s” adventures. The composer created “Little Dino” in 2008. Here now, brave ‟Little Dino” slowly falls asleep and begins to dream. Terrible monsters pursue him in a fearsome nightmare until he finally wakes up and seeks consolation. Degree of difficulty: elementary to intermediate.

Let's Flute
"Let's Flute" est une oeuvre qui se caractérise par un côté dansant, rythmique et accentué qui est typique de l'écriture du compositeur. Du côté formel: l'oeuvre est écrite en un seul mouvement qui s'apparente de loin à la forme de la sonate classique. Ainsi on peut y déceler deux thèmes bien distincts et une assez virtuose cadence pour le soliste.
